Professional background

Dr. Judith Gastner is a certified psychologist, psychotherapist, couples therapist, and educator.

After completing her studies in German language and literature and education at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, she studied psychology at the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg. She

then trained as a psychological psychotherapist at the Bavarian Academy for Psychotherapy (BAP), receiving her license as a cognitive behavioral therapist from the government of Upper Bavaria. Dr. Gastner is a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Psychotherapists (PTK) and registered as a psychotherapist with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians of Bavaria (KVB).

Since 2001, she has worked as a cognitive behavioral therapist, couples therapist, and coach in her own practice in Munich's Glockenbach district.

For ten years, Dr. Gastner also worked as a research associate at the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Technical University of Munich, where she dedicated herself equally to patient care, research, and teaching. During this time, she earned her doctorate with a comparative study of psychotherapies on the effectiveness of different treatment methods for depression. She also obtained certification as a medical education specialist at the Technical University of Munich through the "eTeaching" qualification program.
