Short bio
Professor Dr. Ludwig Schindler is a certified psychologist, psychotherapist, couples therapist, and supervisor.
After studying psychology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, he worked for many years at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich. His research focused on social competence, psychosomatic disorders, the therapeutic relationship and communication skills, as well as partnership and relationship satisfaction.
He earned his doctorate from the University of Tübingen with a dissertation on cognitive-behavioral couples therapy and his habilitation from the University of Bamberg with a thesis on the empirical analysis of the therapeutic relationship. Since 1998, Ludwig Schindler has been an adjunct professor at the University of Bamberg.
He is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy and an accredited lecturer, training therapist, and supervisor for several psychotherapy training institutes. He also serves as an examiner for the state examination for licensure in cognitive behavioral therapy in Upper Bavaria and Lower Franconia.
For more than 40 years, Prof. Schindler gave seminars, training events and supervision on the topic of couple therapy and couple counseling, among other things as part of his adjunct professorship at the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg and at other training and further education institutions.
